Toyota Gazoo Racing has lifted the cover on two incredible new performance machines—the GR GT and the GR GT3—giving the world its first look at these highly anticipated prototypes. As one of Toyota’s closest partners for performance and hybrid innovation, Shelbourne Motors Toyota is excited to share this major step forward in motorsport-inspired engineering.
These two models represent the very best of what Toyota does: pushing boundaries, embracing challenge and building cars that connect the driver directly with the road.
Following in the footsteps of icons like the Toyota 2000GT and the Lexus LFA, the GR GT and GR GT3 have been developed under the direct guidance of Toyota Chairman and Master Driver Akio Toyoda (Morizo). Bringing together professional racing drivers, engineers and next-generation designers, Toyota’s team set out to create cars that honour the past while redefining the future.
Their goal was simple but ambitious:
build the ultimate driver-focused performance cars using lessons learned from the world of motorsport.
The GR GT has been engineered from the ground up to deliver an uncompromising performance experience. Every decision—from the low-slung driving position to the aerodynamic profile—has been shaped by the needs of the driver.
The GR GT3 takes everything learned from the GR GT and channels it into a pure competition machine. Designed to meet FIA GT3 regulations, it will compete in the world’s most respected customer racing category.
Toyota Gazoo Racing is known for applying motorsport learnings directly to road and race car engineering, and this project is no exception.
Both models were developed using:
Toyota plans to continue refining both models ahead of their targeted launch around 2027. As development progresses, Shelbourne Motors Toyota will be sharing updates, insights and future announcements.
These new flagship models are set to redefine Toyota performance, and we look forward to welcoming enthusiasts who want to experience the next generation of Toyota Gazoo Racing engineering.
