Despite its small stature, a used Nissan Micra will comfortably fit even very tall drivers and has a lot of storage inside. It comes with plenty of seat and steering wheel adjustment, cushioned fabrics, and decent knee room in the back. You won’t have too much trouble keeping your Nissan Micra’s cabin nice and tidy. There are a few handy storage cubbies dotted around and the front door bins are big enough to hold both a large and small bottle each. The glovebox is about average for a supermini and there’s a small tray for your smartphone under the dashboard. The Micra has a boot capacity of 300 litres with the seats up which expands to 1003 litres when you fold them down. The 92bhp 1.0-litre petrol has an average economy figure of 51.4mpg, according to current WLTP standards. The turbocharged 89bhp 0.9-litre petrol, on the other hand, officially averages 47.1mpg.
The Nissan Micra comes with one diesel and three different petrol engines, and with either a five or six-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The 100bhp 1.0 litre petrol feels very nippy particularly around town and is always smooth and quiet. You can get a petrol Nissan Micra with a CVT automatic gearbox to help take some of the stress out of long journeys and heavy traffic and it’s one of the better CVTs on sale.
In the front seats, there’s little to complain about in the Micra. The seats and driving position are comfy, as is the steering wheel which has a logical collection of buttons on the two horizontal spokes. A big central screen comes with phone mirroring (mid-spec) or built-in nav (top-spec). Nissan’s infotainment system is quick to respond and easy to navigate, there’s also a Bose stereo option that puts little speakers in the driver’s head rest which sound really rather good. The interior feels very high-quality with a smart, neat design. The material quality is high as well, with soft-touch finishes in all the right places.
