The New Electric Nissan Juke is as Controversial as ever

You might think the latest rendition of the Nissan Juke – that is the 2024-present model – has come a long way in looks from its buggy predecessor. You may even have a soft spot for it … think “y’know, that’s not half bad.” Such days are short lived. The New Electric Nissan Juke has made sure of it with styling designed to make the Juke as controversial as ever. Which is kind of the point of the Juke, no?

Differently Does It

Nissan describes this as a “bold evolution” of its hot crossover and when you look at the images you might even say that’s an understatement. The hyper-punk body panels and that launch colour have completely transformed Juke into some geode-like future ship that, granted, has a familiar shape but much, much, more aggressive contouring.

Supposedly inspired by origami, the All-electric Juke get gemstone-esque headlights flanking a distinctive light bar that sweeps across the bonnet and rises towards the windscreen. The two-tone paintwork sets apart a more rugged look than the current model and the eye-catching design stretches to the taut rear end, where a large bumper and stylised taillight patterns can be seen.

For now, everything has been rather hush hush when it comes to the finer details of the electric Juke. The interior, range, battery options etc will remained under lock and key until the Juke nears production. But, we can speculate.

We reckon the powertrain won’t be too dissimilar from the 52kWh and 75kWh battery options in the LEAF. We do know the Juke will get Vehicle-to-grid tech which is something at least.

For those not ready to go full EV, know that Nissan will update the existing Juke with similar design language and a hybrid powertrain. The Nissan Juke has been one of the manufacturer's most successful models, regularly ranking inside the overall top ten in UK end-of-year sales charts since its launch over 15 years ago, it’ll be interesting to see how the EV Juke will fair up.
