Ariya Nismo

The Formula-E inspired Ariya Nismo
to light up UK roads later this year

You open the door to virtually any major carmaker and you’ll find it has a separate limb that specialises in the production of its more performance-based vehicles. For Nissan, that’s Nismo. Since 1984, Nismo – a clever blend of NISan MOtorsport - has been propelled by maverick engineering with one goal in mind: ultimate Nissan Performance. The Nismo road cars certainly offer a thrilling and unique experience both on and off the track, and their latest addition to the collection promises more of the same, but in an EV.

That’s right, the Ariya Nismo will be Nissan’s first inductee into its electrified Nismo range. The team have even pulled together knowledge and data from Formula-E to refine and push performance. The Ariya Nismo will be based on the 87kWh Ariya e-4orce, which means 302bhp, 443lb ft, around 300 miles of range and a trip to 62mph in 5.7s… at least. E-4orce is Nissan’s all-wheel drivetrain that gives you complete control over the four wheels independently. They pumped a lot of R&D from Formula-E to feed back into the Nismo Ariya maximising the performance of both front and rear suspension systems, ensuring expert traction in all weather, without losing any of its sportscar precision. Additional precision driving is also provided for drivers and passengers with finely tuned brake pads that give reliable stopping power, whether rain or shine.

The Ariya NISMO boasts a lineup of sharp and sporty exterior details and engineering, delivering that signature smooth electric feeling with an added kick from the racetrack. With its Japanese-inspired crossover design, it provides a fluid, aerodynamic performance that reduces drag and generates greater downforce at higher speeds, improving performance through the corners while offering better brake balance.

As passionate as we are about performance, we are also dedicated to the idea that the joy of owning and driving a NISMO vehicle should be available to every enthusiast. So we are pleased to offer a wide range of vehicles, where everything from enhanced aerodynamics to competition-tuned suspensions to race-inspired cockpits put you in the sweet spot of track-inspired performance and a road car you feel comfortable driving on your daily commute.

Team Nissan

The new car slots nicely with Nissan’s Ambition 2030 plan where the company pledges that 60% of all sales will be EV by 2030. And while they are aware they need to be adaptable to customer needs and the varying pace of transition to electric cars, Nissan understand as they push forward the electrification of their lineup, it’s essential that they continue to offer elite and exciting models to customers. Pricing and UK release date for the Ariya Nismo have still to be confirmed, but don’t let that stop you from getting hyped about this track-to-road EV.
