Kia has pulled the wraps off the PV7, the second model in its dedicated electric commercial vehicle range, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover. It's the follow-up to the PV5, sitting a level up in size and capability, and pushes Kia further into the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market as a genuine electric alternative for fleets, logistics operators, shuttle services and SMEs who need serious load space without giving up EV running costs.
The launch comes on the back of strong demand for the PV5 Cargo and Passenger at Shelbourne Motors Kia in Newry, and the team here is genuinely excited to see what the larger PV7 brings to the range when it lands.
The PV7 comes in two flavours. The Cargo version is the workhorse: up to 8.0m³ of load space, 1,200kg payload, a flat floor and a choice of full-open twin-swing or conventional lift-up tailgates. The Passenger version seats up to nine, with flexible Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats and rear climate control, making it a strong fit for shuttle, tourism or crew transport work.
Both sit on Kia's new PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S platform, purpose-built for commercial use rather than adapted from a passenger car.

Timing
Korea and Europe launch is set for the second half of 2027, with the lineup eventually expanding to 23 variants, including a Chassis Cab and various conversion models, built at Kia's Hwaseong plant and through regional conversion partners.
Kia CEO Ho Sung Song framed it as part of a wider shift: the PV7 is designed to be "a complete business solution that helps customers achieve greater productivity, flexibility and long-term value."
Kia has confirmed a Korea and Europe launch for the second half of 2027. UK and NI pricing, spec and allocation haven't been confirmed yet, we'll update this page as soon as Kia releases local details.
The PV5 is Kia's smaller, city-focused electric van. The PV7 is a size class up, with more cargo volume (up to 8.0m³ vs the PV5's smaller capacity), higher payload, and a Passenger variant seating up to nine, making it better suited to larger fleets, shuttle operators and businesses needing more space.
The Long Range Cargo version offers 460km+ on the WLTP cycle, with an 800V system that can take it from 10-80% charge in around 25 minutes on a compatible 350kW DC fast charger.
Yes, the PV7 Passenger seats up to nine and is designed with shuttle, tourism, crew transport and family use in mind, with flexible seating and rear climate control.
The PV5 Cargo and Passenger are already available to view and test drive at Shelbourne Motors Kia, Newry. Get in touch with our team to book a viewing or register your interest in the PV7 ahead of its 2027 launch.
It's primarily designed as a business tool, but the Passenger variant's flexible seating and comfort features make it a practical option for larger families or private hire use too.
