Kia’s flagship SUV, the All-new Sorento has driven into successfully
into the New Year after being picking up
‘Large SUV of the Year’ at the What
Car? Car of the Year Awards.
Competing with other strong contenders in this category, the
What Car? judging panel were impressed by the
Sorento’s high level
specification
, outstanding build quality, profound fuel economy and driving
dynamics.
The judges identified the 1.6 T-GDi Hybrid as their
chosen variant which is jam packed with lots of standard features such as
cyclist and junction detection, Forward Collision Avoidance, Reversing Camera
System and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist.
Steve Huntingford from What Car? magazine commented on hybrid
technology combing “… real-world fuel economy with comparatively low CO2 emissions, while the ride is comfortable and the
steering accurate. Throw in a nicely made and well-equipped interior, a driving
position that’s lofty enough to make HGV drivers jealous and Kia’s unmatched
seven-year warranty, and the Sorento is an outstanding all-rounder.”
Kia Motors Europe President Won-Jeong Jeong also spoke of his
delight to have received this award from a highly reputable publication such as
What Car? He went onto to say “The fourth-generation Sorento is a car we are
very proud of, particularly as it represents the first application of
electrified power in our flagship SUV.”
On sale in Europe for only a limited time, the all-new Sorento
has already secured a valued position in the Kia line-up after also scooping ‘Car
of the Year’ in the UK’s Carbuyer 2021 awards.
