Toyota has enjoyed double success in the DrivingElectric Awards, presented by the UK’s leading consumer news, reviews and advice website for electrified motoring. The all-new Corolla Touring Sports is the winner in the Best Medium Hybrid Car Category, while the current, fourth generation Prius was awarded the Best Used Hybrid Car.
The results are a further, independent affirmation of Toyota’s leadership in self-charging hybrid-electric technology, established through more than 20 years of innovation and experience since the introduction of the original Prius, the world’s first mass-market hybrid car.
Announcing Corolla Touring Sports’s success, Vicky Parrott, DrivingElectric Associate Editor, said: “The new Corolla is a huge leap forwards. In its Touring Sports estate form, it’s very practical as well as efficient, particularly with the cheaper 1.8-litre powertrain. Plus, it looks absolutely fantastic from the outside, and you get the peace of mind of Toyota’s excellent reliability record.”
