Glowing reviews from various media outlets have been pouring in for the New Toyota GR Yaris since it hit the UK roads in 2020. The team at Shelbourne Motors NI have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Toyota’s motorsport inspired vehicle which was developed with the experts at Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team.
The lightweight and exhilarating car has also drummed up excitement amongst Shelbourne’s customers who have also highly anticipated its arrival in Northern Ireland.

CAR: Hot Hatch of the Year
GR Yaris made quite the first impression on CAR magazine after being described as “fast and fabulous.” They went onto argue that the GR Yaris is one of Japan’s best performance cars and an incomparable modern hot hatch justified by the distinct engine and exploitable all-wheel-drive system.
Autocar: Best Affordable Driver’s Car
As well as picking up first place in Autocar magazine’s annual test to find Britain’s Best Affordable Driver’s Car, the GR Yaris was also awarded third place in the Overall Best Driver’s Car rankings surpassed key players Lamborghini and Porsche in the exotic supercars market.
Top Gear: Hot Hatch of the Year
Speaking about the GR Yaris, editor of Top Gear magazine Jack Rix praised the vehicle’s three-cylinder engine and trick 4WD system. The carefully crafted model by a team at Gazoo Racing has went down as a firm favourite amongst the team at Top Gear HQ.
EVO: hot Hatch of the Year
Similar to Top Gear, the EVO team were very impressed with the GR Yaris. They have been craving for a performance car like this to hit the market for quite some time and are delighted with the car’s 3D experience, dynamic ability not to mention the WRC stage look.
carwow: Hot Hatch of the Year and Car of the Year
It was double success for the GR Yaris at carwow Awards after thousands of car fanatics throughout the UK voted to crown the GR Yaris as Car of the Year 2021 as well as Hot Hatch of Year. Glowing reviews praised the cars “fizzy 1.6-litre engine that pumps out a whooping 261bhp.”

The sixth ‘Hot Hatch’ award comes courtesy of What Car? after editor Steve Huntingford commended the GR Yaris as a tailor-made machine that was made for tackling a British B-road as well being speedy enough to intimidate thoroughbred sports cars.
