The Portadown & Newry based business made an application on behalf of the charity to Toyota who were seeking applications from their dealer network throughout the UK. Toyota called out for their dealers to nominate charities in their local area who have been directly impacted by the effects of COVID-19.
This week Shelbourne Motors were made aware that the funding was successful & ensured the processing of the payment was made in time for Portadown Cares to use it for their Christmas Appeal.
Speaking about the donation David Taylor from Portadown Cares said “We are absolutely overwhelmed by this support. We have had more applications for help this year than ever and this donation has come just in time for us to be able to help even more individuals and families in Portadown and surrounding areas”

Imogen Dummigan who made the application from Shelbourne Motors said “The work and efforts from David, Tracy and the team at Portadown Cares within our Community is admirable. Especially over Christmas. They have been badly impacted by the closure of their shop this year & we are delighted to be successful in the application”
Earlier this month Shelbourne Motors made a donation of £1,500 to the Portadown Cares Christmas Appeal bringing the total support from Shelbourne Motors to £6,500.
Portadown Cares delivered 166 food hampers to individuals & families and a bag of gifts to 292 children in 2019. Children who otherwise would have done without.
