Anthony drives away in a brand-new Renault Clio

Anthony Hillen from Bessbrook was the lucky winner of the Southern Area Hospice Services ‘Win a CLIO’ competition which took place on Saturday 6th November and supported by Shelbourne Motors and AbbeyAutoline.

Shelbourne Motors Newry staff welcomed the team from Southern Area Hospice to carry out the draw along Deputy Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Councillor Oonagh Magennis in attendance to verify.

When Anthony received the news informing him he was the winner of the brand new Clio, the local man was elated and shockingly replied with “Is someone winding me up?!” As well as a new car which was supported by Shelbourne Motors, Anthony also won one year’s free insurance generously sponsored by AbbeyAutoline.

When Anthony called into the dealership to arrange collection of his new car he said, “I’m absolutely delighted to win this wee car, it was an utter surprise when I got a phone call on Saturday about winning it. I’m really delighted, thank you very much.”

Speaking of their support of the Car Competition, Ronan Marshall, Group Marketing Manager at Shelbourne Motors said, “We are thrilled to have been involved with this fantastic fundraising drive for the Southern Area Hospice. As a local business with 150 employees working and living within the area, many of our colleagues and customers have had first-hand experience of the outstanding work that the Hospice provides. Every single entry into the ‘Win a CLIO’ competition has helped in some way towards this service and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to supply the prize. On behalf of the entire team at Shelbourne Motors I would like to congratulate Anthony and wish him all the best with his prize.”

Everyone at Shelbourne Motors and Southern Area Hospice would like to congratulate Anthony on his win and wish him well with his new car. In response to the many Facebook replies to the winner announcement, Anthony is quite obviously perceived as a very worthy winner.

Southern Area Hospice Services has continued to provide the highest level of Hospice care to patients and their families through these very difficult times, and it is only with people supporting campaigns such as their car competition that they can do this. All the money raised through the car competition will enable them to continue their work providing care and support to local people.
