2016 has been a great year for new cars. From the launch of the convertible Range Rover Evoque to the new Megane hatchback and the new technologically advanced Toyota Prius, brands have upped the ante with plusher interiors, sportier exteriors and quicker, even more economic, engine sizes. So, what does 2017 have to offer the new car buyer? Here’s a look at the new year’s most anticipated cars and the new features that they’re packed with:
Renault Scenic
In 2017 Renault is set to unveil its brand-new Scenic, the fourth-generation MPV. Two versions of the new MPV are set to hit the show rooms with a sleeker, more dynamic look.With 20” alloys, a plunging windscreen,signature lighting on both the front and rear, plenty of interior storage, it’s a much sportier version of the old Scenic and even more spacious. Technology has been upped to make it one of the safest MPVs on the market with lane departure warning, tiredness detection alert and pedestrian detection all available, making this a great new contender for 2017.
New Toyota
After Toyota had a thriving 2016, 2017 looks to be even better with the launch of the new Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover. Entering the SUV field the new C-HR will be available in two different engine sizes, a 1.2 litre and 1.8 litre with a lightweight and compact electric engine making it both fuel efficient and responsive to drive. The Coupe High Rider is an attractive new offering from Toyota thanks to its low running costs and high driving position. The muscular styling and elevated cabin position make it both an aesthetically pleasing and dynamic new addition to the market.
Nissan Micra
Packed with gadgets and much slicker, sportier and cooler than all previous models, the 2017 Nissan Micra is set to make an impact. Complete with top of the range technology including pedestrian recognition, lane departure prevention and speakers built into the driver’s headset, it’s got a lot to offer for a hatchback. The fifth-generation Micra is set to be price ranged against the much-loved Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo with its turbocharged engines and sporty looking exterior.
With all these technologically advanced new models about to make their 2017 debut, it looks like the car market is about to be shaken up with some serious competition. All the newest models will be available at Shelbourne Motors in 2017.
