Northern Ireland’s top motor industry professionals gathered in the Crowne Plaza Hotel for the gala third annual NI Motor Industry Awards. “The atmosphere was electric, and it was a privilege to celebrate the extraordinary talent and dedication across Northern Ireland’s motor industry.” hailed Emma Marley, CEO of event sponsor Used Cars NI.
She was right. A room full of motorheads with free wine on the table and something to celebrate is grounds for a rowdy good time. The black-tie event showcased the industry’s outstanding achievements across 23 categories, of which — courtesy of another year of unified graft and effort —Shelbourne Motors managed to pip three. Including the top prize.
For the second year running we celebrated winning Dealer Group of the Year. We’d like to linger on that for a moment. If you spend any amount of time in our Dealership’s you’ll notice the same one consistency. The people. The people who’ll go to any length to pour joy and good experience over your visit. Who won’t leave you standing when you walk in, but instead quickly greet you warmly and offer a beverage. The people who work with an obsessive synergy to make the business run Monday through Saturday, January to December. We couldn’t — really, we’re not just saying it for saying it — do any of it without them. To win this award for a second year makes us proud. Because their hard work deserves recognition. And this is just that.
Then the announcer said our name a further two times and we made the long walk with big smiles to the stage to pick up awards for EV Dealer of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign. The former was a big win for us. Internally we’re on a mission, as many modern businesses are, to make Shelbourne a more sustainable operation. Part of that means offering customers a varied selection of zero-emission vehicles. To be recognised as the best in doing so is motivation that we’re heading in the right direction.
The latter was the feel-good win of the evening. Our small but mighty Marketing team do a good, hard job, in catering to the needs of 9 individual franchises. That’s video work, social strategy, imagery, web content, advertising and more. Much more. Their creativity and passion for the game deserved this recognition.
We’d like to congratulate every nominee, winner and highly-commended recipient. The industry is so competitive and so exceptional that you are forced to be better than yesterday. We’re immensely grateful to be in the mix with such amazing professionals who continue to push not only us, but our industry forward.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
