Shelbourne Motors is continuing to place employee health and well-being firmly in the fast lane by prioritising its people and investing in a happier, healthier workforce.
The company has partnered with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council through its Get Moving ABC programme, supporting and motivating its 173-strong team across two sites to become more active.
As one of the Northern Ireland’s most established motor retailers, Shelbourne Motors offers new and approved used vehicle sales alongside rental, Motability, fleet services, servicing and maintenance. As the business continues to grow, leadership says creating a culture that supports physical and mental well-being remains a key priority.
Fiona Morgan, Head of Talent & People at Shelbourne Motors, said:
“At Shelbourne Motors, we believe the health and well-being of our people is fundamental to how we scale and succeed as a business. As we continue to grow, initiatives like the Get Moving ABC Workplace Scheme reinforce an important message — encouraging physical activity and positive lifestyle choices within our workplace has a direct impact on energy, resilience and overall performance.”
The initiative reflects the company’s wider commitment to building a workplace where high performance is matched with genuine care, and where employees feel supported physically, mentally and emotionally.
“When our teams feel energised and valued, that positivity is reflected in the experience we deliver to our customers every day. Sustainable growth depends on healthy, engaged people. By investing in well-being, we are investing in the long-term strength of our teams, our culture and our customer relationships.”
Through the partnership, council representatives will work closely with Shelbourne Motors to explore and coordinate practical ways of encouraging employees to lead active, fulfilling lives — both inside and outside the workplace.
As a Get Moving ABC partner, participating organisations can benefit from a range of health and well-being supports, including guidance on Couch to 5K and 10K programmes, advice on active travel schemes, and collaboration opportunities with the Live Well Work Well programme delivered by NI Chest Heart and Stroke.
The Get Moving ABC initiative is supported by a number of regional partners, including Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Sport NI, Public Health Agency, Education Authority and Ulster GAA.
