All-New Renault Megane E-Tech Electric recognised for maximum 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating

The forthcoming all-electric model was officially recognised with the highest possible rating after achieving 85%per cent for adult occupant protection, 88 per cent on child protection 65 per cent for vulnerable road users and 79 per cent for safety assist.

With an exceptionally stiff body structure and seven airbags, these attributes along with 26 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have contributed to the impressive occupant safety scores.

Driving, parking and safety are the three categories ADAS features are divided into. If in the event of an accident, a QR code affixed to the windscreen can be scanned to reveal the location of the car’s battery and airbags for quick and risk-free cutting. This could potentially save up 15 minutes on the time it takes to extract an occupant in the event of a crash.

Combining efficiency and range with optimal safety, the All-New Megane E-Tech Electric is the first of a new generation of electric vehicles that benefit from the advanced CMF-EV electric platform. Customers can choose from two battery options, 40kWh for a range of up to 186 miles (WLTP), and 60kWh for up to 292 miles of range (WLTP).
