A showroom vehicle and a demonstrator of the fourth generation iconic city car and first new design to launch in seven years will be at the Tandragee Road dealership from 10th January to preview and test drive.
The emphasis of the new Micra is on simplicity, functionality and low running costs, while still boasting a stylish and user friendly appeal.
A new feature and a first for a car of its size is a unique parking system that removes the stress of parking. As you drive forward, the car measures the space, letting you know whether parking will be easy, difficult or not even worth attempting. Once you find a suitable space, the rear parking sensors will guide you in with audio visual signals to indicate how close you are to objects, taking the burden out of parking in tight spaces.
Retaining its compact dimensions, the new car is slightly longer and marginally lower than its predecessor, while its longer wheelbase enables a ‘wheels-at-each-corner’ stance and a roomier interior.
The new Micra features Nissan’s all-new naturally aspirated HR12 1.2 litre, 3-cyclinder petrol engine with valve-timing control (VTC) and is available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or the all-new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Particular attention has been paid to ride and handling characteristics which combine agility, refinement and poise, as well as bump absorption.
The legendary class-topping turning radius of 4.65m has been retained along with several new technologies that minimise CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. Not just kinder for the environment, the new Nissan Micra also benefits the owner with lower running costs – the new model is exempt from road tax for the first 12 months ownership and costs just £20 for the manual and £90 for the CVT version per following year. An insurance group rating of five is also a significant improvement on the previous model and will result on customer savings of up to £300 per year.
On course to create a whole new set of industry standards, the new Micra offers Nissan Connect, Nissan’s accessible touch-screen combined audio and satellite navigation system, glass roof, climate control, automatic wipers and cruise control. In addition to a drive computer which supplies drivers with real time fuel economy information, cruising range and outside temperature, it will even remind you of your wedding anniversary or wish you a happy birthday.
On the security side, the car is also fitted with a speed-sensitive automatic door locking system.
